If you are doing yoga, you should always create a separate space for it. A separate space in your bedroom or living room design is acceptable. You should always have a dedicated space because interior design has a huge impact on your mind. This can include the colour, smell, and ambiance of the room. Do not worry if you do not have a dedicated space in your bedroom or living room design. Creating one is not very difficult. If you are not sure about how to do it, here are a few tips that will help you:

01 of 04 Avoid clutter

Yoga helps to make you calm and more relaxed. It declutters your mind completely and helps you to achieve peace. However, it could be a little difficult when your surroundings are cluttered. Therefore, you should always ensure that your yoga space does not appear cluttered. It is an easy task. You will have to focus on getting rid of all the unnecessary items. It will make more space in your interior design. If you are not sure about how to declutter your home decor, look around and move out all the things that you use rarely. Also, try to keep all the elements organised inside the room. You can create cabinets or hidden storage to keep everything out of sight.

Just make sure that you create space for your yoga items. They should always be kept in the yoga room and in an easy-to-access area. This will allow you to start practicing without wasting a lot of time trying to find your yoga essentials, like a mat or towel.

02 of 04 Add greenery

This is one of the best ideas to set the right ambiance for your yoga room. In a yoga room, you need to create a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Adding greenery can do exactly that! There are lots of small plants you can add to your yoga room to create a relaxing ambiance. The green colour creates a very soothing environment. Moreover, people feel more relaxed when they feel close to nature. Therefore, you will be able to concentrate better while practicing yoga. A few commonly used options are snake plant, Boston fern, and English ivy. They purify the air and make the interior design feel refreshed. For the empty corners, you can get large plants that will cover the awkward free space and make the interiors more relaxing.

03 of 04 Pay attention to the colours

You cannot create a great yoga room if you choose the wrong colours. The colours play a very crucial role in setting the tone. Therefore, if you choose the wrong colours, your room might not be ideal for practicing yoga. However, you will not have to worry about finding the right colours. There are lots of options available that will help to create the perfect mood for your yoga room. Muted and neutral colours are broadly used for creating yoga rooms. A few options recommended by experts for your house design are blush pink, pastel blue, soft lavender, peach orange, sage green, and crisp white. You can experiment with other similar colours as well. Just make sure that you avoid bold and dark colours like red or bright yellow.

04 of 04 Create the right mood with lighting

Just like colours, lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood of a room. The right lighting can create a very relaxing and calming vibe in the room. You cannot install just one task light for the room. Instead, you will have to invest in ambient lighting. Ambient light helps to set the mood by creating a beautiful warm glow that will make you feel more invited. You can find various types of lighting fixtures for your yoga room. Just make sure you install a dimmer so that you can control the brightness level according to your preferences.

  • If you are doing deep stretches and yin yoga, consider pink and green lights.
  • For focusing while meditation, a blue light will be more appropriate.
  • Look for color-changing LED mood lights so that you can set the right mood according to your preferences.
  • Add options like warm hanging lanterns and Himalayan salt lamps for a mystical vibe.

Artificial light is not always sufficient for your yoga room. You should focus on natural light as well. Natural light is important to give the room a bright and motivating ambiance. You can install large glass windows, glass doors, and even a skylight to maximise the amount of natural light entering the room.
