  • You need to use smooth rice flour to ensure soft consistency of the roti. If you do not use fine consistency, the flour would eventually be tough and the roti wouldn’t be as soft as you want it to be. Nonetheless, if the flour isn’t smooth, you can sieve it and proceed accordingly. 
  • The quality of the rice flour matters a lot. As a result, it is necessary that you take proper care with the rice flour. While you may want to use wheat flour, it will eventually result in Akki roti from breaking. High quality rice flour will ensure soft and thin rotis. 
  • The dough should be moist and sticky so that Akki roti spreads well. This will eventually that roti will be made thoroughly. You may as well dip your hands on the roti dough to mix it thoroughly. 
  • Also, if you are serving the roti on banana leaf, you need to remove dirt and clean it thoroughly.
